2/12-2/14/20: Morris Township Emergency Management Association, partnering with the Morris Township FMBA to hold their annual “Rose Sale” fundraiser at the Hillside Firehouse on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 12:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., and Friday, February 14th , 2020 from 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. with a setup time on Tuesday, February 11, 2020– will be taking pre-orders.

Parking areas: Ginty Pool, Loantaka park, Township Municipal Parking Lots, South St. Office Building lots. Staging area will be the Ginty Field. Township Roads: Dwyer Lane, Fanok Rd., Kitchell Road, Spring Valley Road Expected number of participants: 700. Police: Morris Township Police Department for traffic control. Charity group: Police Unity Tour, Morristown High School Track and Field Association 

5/6-5/8/20: Granted permission, to Saint Virgil Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, NJ to hold its’ annual carnival May 6, 2020 thru May 8, 2020 hours 6-10 P.M. and on May 9, 2020 hours 4-10 P.M.; granted permission to exceed 10 P.M. end time for clean-up purposes. Additionally, the request for courtesy parking for their staff and carnival guests to park in the municipal lot on Speedwell Avenue from May 6 thru May 9, 2020 (Note: Please advise those who will be parking in the Municipal lot that there is NO PARKING in space that are posted “Parking for Mario’s Pizzeria ONLY” located on the West side of the parking lot. 

5/12/20: Approved the request for the Girls School of the Rabbinical College of America to hold a Jewish Pride Parade on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 from approximately 10:30 AM to 12 PM. through the Wheatsheaf neighborhood. It would be approximately 250 people, mid-size truck and a few vehicles 

5/17/20: Granted municipal consent to hold the Superhero Half Marathon and Relay, organized by Chris Russo and Heather Gardiner, 11th Annual Superhero Event, LLC, benefitting the New Jersey Battered Women’s Service on Sunday, May 17th , 2020, at 8:30 A.M.. This request includes parking at the following locations: Ginty Field, Ginty Pool, Municipal Building lots and Woodland Avenue School; staging and registration will be located at Ginty Field and in front of the Woodland Fire Station; expect 1,500 participants. Township roads that will be utilized for this event will be: Fanok, Symor, Spring Valley, Southgate Parkway, Woodland, Kitchell, Blackberry Lane, Dwyer, and Hadley Way.

6/7/20: Granted municipal consent to the P.G. Chambers School, 15 Halko Drive, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927 to hold their 8 th annual Walk, Run, Fun 5K fund raiser to be held on Sunday, June 7, 2020 with a setup time of 6:30 A.M., start time of race 8:30 A.M. at Ginty Field, Woodland Avenue. The 5K run/walk includes the following Township roadways: Dwyer Lane, Fanok Road, Symor Drive, Woodland Avenue, Kitchell Road, Spring Valley, South Street 

6/13/20: Granted municipal consent for the 12th Annual Morris Area Freewheelers Foundation Revolutionary Ramble Bike tour that will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2020. The purpose of the Ramble is to support local area all-volunteer first aid squads and to promote safe cycling. The cyclists will share the roads with vehicle traffic. The event is not a race, no request for road closures. The roads that will be used will be: Mendham Road, Washington Valley Road, Whitehead Road, School house Lane, Gaston Road, and Sussex Avenue. 

8/22/20: Approved, Morris Township Family Food Truck Fest that will take place at Ginty Field that will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. and will be partnering with the Morris Township PBA. This event is a fun, family-oriented food truck festival with about 15 food vendors, games for kids, live music, etc. 

9/13/20: Granted municipal consent to the Melanoma Research Foundation to hold their annual 5K run/walk fundraiser in the Township of Morris on Sunday, September 13, 2020; request includes the utilization of the approved 5K course that begins at Ginty Field and requires the partial closure of the following roads: Dwyer Lane, Fanok Road, Woodland Avenue, Kitchell Road, Spring Valley Road, and South Street.

9/13/20: Granted consent to conduct the “Gran Fondo NJ” bicycle event on Morris Township roads on Sunday, September 13, 2020 starting at 7:00 A.M. .The event is a 107 mile bicycle tour beginning and ending in Morristown, NJ. It is a fundraiser for local charities, primarily for the Seeing Eye. The cyclists will share the roads with vehicle traffic. The event is not a race, no request for road closures. The roads that will be used will be: Mendham Road, Washington Valley Road, Whitehead Road, School house Lane, Gaston Road, and Sussex Avenue. 

10/25/20: Granted municipal consent for the Halloween Half Marathon and relay race that will take place on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at 9:00 A.M. (rain date Sunday, November 1, 2020). Staging will be at the Verizon parking lot, Morristown; the course for the race includes portions of Woodland Ave., Herms Pl., Kitchell Rd, S. Gate Pkwy, Fanok Road, Mt Kemble Avenue, James St., and Loantaka Park. The sponsors will be Jackrabbit of Morristown, Normandy Real Estate, Dr. James O’Rourke Physical Therapy.
