Large Metal Items
There are two(2) large item pick-ups, scheduled at different times of the month: Large Trash & Large Metal & Appliance. Please request the appropriate pick-up. If you have both, please fill out both request forms.
Obtaining the Service
This service will occur the last full week of each month only by calling into the Department of Public Works at 973-326-7398 or submitting an Online Request.
Online Request Form / All requests should be submitted the Friday prior to scheduled pick-up dates. All requests will be processed in the order they are received. The Department of Public Works shall make every attempt to accommodate all resident requests. In the event of a question or if a request cannot be accommodated, you will receive either a phone call or email from our office with an explanation.
This service will be limited to large appliances, which includes:
- Refrigerators (remove doors)
- Hot water heaters / boilers
- Standup and chest freezers
- Stoves
Smaller Appliances
All smaller appliances, such as dehumidifiers and room air conditions, and metal items must be dropped off at the Department of Public Works yard on Jane Way Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., or Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
Leaf Collection Program Impact
This service will not be available during the annual Leaf Collection Program. Please call back after the first Monday in December to schedule a collection.
