1. Can I sell or give away food prepared in my home to the public?

No. All food that is offered for free, or for a cost to the public must be prepared in a commercial kitchen that is licensed and inspected by the local health department. Distributing food prepared in a home kitchen is strictly prohibited.

2. What about bake sales?

Baked goods such as brownies, cookies and cakes prepared in a private home for sale or service at a religious or charitable organizations bake sale is permitted if there is a clearly visible placard at the sale or service location that states the food is prepared in a kitchen that is not subject to regulation and inspection by the health department.

3. Do I need a temporary food license for my limited event?

All persons or vendors selling or giving away food to the public within the borders of the Township of Morris must obtain a temporary food license.
